Earth, part of Gridlink, with headquarters in Harelbeke, is a specialist in residential, commercial and governmental PV projects and is an established player in Belgium, France and Germany.
The EPC business, or B2B part of the solar activities is not included in the sale. These activities will remain within VINCI Energies Belgium under the brand name IZEN, that focuses on 100% renewable energy. The brand name IZEN is also not included in the sale. To summarize, all B2C activities become part of Earth. The B2B activities remain operating under the IZEN brand.
With the acquisition of IZEN in 2019, VINCI Energies Belgium strengthened its position on the renewable energy market. IZEN has been focusing ever since on developing its projects for small to large companies and has seen a significant growth in those segments in recent years.
In the coming years, IZEN’s strategy remains to focus on large scale solar parks, floating solar parks, rooftops or carports for businesses.
“In terms of our profile, as an integrator of customized multitechnical solutions, the B2C segment is not strategic for us,” says Marc Lemaire, Managing Director of VINCI Energies in Belgium. “Now, a few years after the acquisition, we have sought and found a reliable party for it.”
“I am confident that we have found, with Earth, a new owner with the commercial capabilities to leverage the full potential of our qualified teams” adds Bart Van Der Meersch, Managing Director of the department Renewable Energies of VINCI Energies Belgium.
“We are proud to welcome the experienced residential PV team from IZEN to our company,” states Luc Demeyere, CEO of Earth. “Their expertise and strong reputation perfectly complies with our core values. This acquisition allows us to further expand our reach and empower even more homeowners to embrace the power of solar energy. We now have an additional base of operations in Belgium, aside from Harelbeke, Kortrijk. This allows us to better service the Antwerp, Limburg and Liège region with local project engineers and local installation teams. We look forward to a bright future together, working towards a more sustainable future for us all.”
VINCI Energies Belgium believes that, under this new ownership, the residential department will be better positioned to realize its strategic ambitions and opportunities for further growth and is confident that it will bring a bright future for all parties involved.
