The 24-year-old Julie Van Dijck works as an Environment Coordinator at VINCI Energies. Her primary task is to manage the environmental reporting from A to Z, an important responsibility, as the impact of these reports is crucial for achieving certain objectives. Among other things, Julie ensures that the relevant data and information are delivered in a timely and accurate manner by the various brands within VINCI Energies. She also follows up the greening projects in detail.
Julie: After my internship, I was offered to continue working one day a week during my master year as a job student, with a flexible working arrangement that allowed me to determine my weekly schedule. This flexibility facilitated a seamless integration of my studies and work. After completing my studies, I started working full-time. The decisive factor for this choice was the pleasant working atmosphere within the company, the friendly colleagues, the modern working environment and the interesting job responsibilities, where I can fully pursue my passion for the environment. The moment I was first allowed to discover the various business activities related to energy transition and put my knowledge into practice during my internship at VINCI Energies, I was immediately sold. As a member of the international team, which meets physically twice a year, I value the opportunity to combine both my fondness for travelling and my work. This unique opportunity was also a crucial factor in my decision to choose this company.
Julie: Despite the fact that my career at VINCI Energies has only just started, I hope to work here for a very long time. The company motivates employees to follow training courses relevant to their roles. For instance, I have already completed two training courses and plan to study the field of sustainability further to stay up-to-date. I hope such opportunities will come my way a lot in the future. Moreover, the diversity of career opportunities really speaks to me. The day I feel interested in another professional aspect, I could pursue that by taking up another role within the company. For me, the sky is the limit because at VINCI Energies you have a large variety of jobs.
Julie: At VINCI Energies, I feel that my opinion really matters. My ideas are always received with enthusiasm. A striking example of this is when I organised the VINCI Energies Belgium Environment Day. I was given the freedom to completely plan this initiative. My proposals were embraced, which ultimately resulted in a great event. Afterwards, I received a small gift from my colleagues as a token of appreciation. Furthermore, I also hope to simply contribute to the company’s sustainability story every day.
